Hi everyone , my ears getting better! Ive been going to the gym more, still not 100% though. Its hard to sleep because my head is still sore. I feel like a stuffed chicken since my ear is stuffed with packing…but that’s what I have to do to get better.
Here’s a list (people love there lists..) for winter surfing:
-If you can drink water before that’s good and stretch a little
-check the tides before you go so that you can get the spot at the best tide. For l-town med-to high is best
-Go later when the sun is up more it will make a difference (warmer) plus the winds will be better
-Make sure your wetsuit is dry when you put it on, you wont get as chilly. Your body drops faster then you know!
-Go with as much wind protection as you can
-Make sure your suit has no holes. Holes = water= you cold.
-Don’t over heat you car before you get in the water. You’ll be sweating by the time you get in the water and then you’ll get the chills.
-You can put hot water in your boots and gloves. This will help keep you warmer but it does hurt the seams and they wont last as long
-Only go out for 2 hours max. “One more!” is never one more and you don’t want to get hypothermia
-Get out of the water fast when you leave. Get to your car or house as fast as possible. Don’t drive home in suit! They are made for being in the water not out of it. Change fast and warm up , wear a towel to change and don’t crank the latest Britney Spears song…
-Drink a lot of water
